Initial New Product Review
Got a new idea for something new and innovative? Wade will sit down with you and talk through the idea to help you understand the process and steps that need to be taken to bring it to market.
Initial Virtual Product Design
Are you ready to see what your invention will look like? Using SolidWorks, a 3-D CAD Model can be created of your idea. The creation of complex animated mechanical models will allow you to look at your design in a virtual world. By looking at the design in detail, it will allow you to find potential issues and fix them before the expense of a prototype is under taken.
Initial Prototype Assembly and Testing
Wade has a small shop that is full of tools to assemble and test your design. Even though a properly built CAD Model can catch most problems in the virtual world, prototyping will make sure that the idea actually works. It is also important to find any weak areas at this stage. Depending on the project, Wade will run your invention through its paces in the shop or on location or both. He will track down the appropriate governing standards and perform tests to ensure the product is compliant.
Patent Assistance
Is your idea worth patenting? There are many reasons why you should go through the effort of securing a patent on your idea. There are also many reasons that it is not viable to do so. Wade can give you insight into the process and help you decide if it is worth the financial commitment to take this step.
Patent Drawings
Mr. Wolf has been producing patent drawings for years and depending on the patent attorney you are using, he can produce the necessary drawings for the write-up using CAD models, photographs or video. This will save you time and money in the patent process.
Cost of Manufacturing
How much will the product cost? What is the reasonable price for it? This is one of the most important steps in deciding whether or not to take an idea through to manufacture. During the design process it is important to keep in mind the costs involved with each part and process. At different points along the process you will be provided with a spreadsheet and cost breakdown based on parts, processes, and man-hours.
Manufacturing and Production Assistance
Are you ready to go to production? In order for your product to be manufactured, it is important to have every aspect of the process documented and specified. Mr. Wolf has a lot of experience running machines and making parts. He knows that in order for the parts to be made properly, the information about each part needs to be properly specified. Wade can make manufacturing drawings with dimensions and tolerances that will ensure that the parts are made correctly. He can then help you communicate with machinists and fabricators, ensuring quality, fit and finish.
Work Station Design
Do you need to reduce costs and the time it takes to get your finished product out the door? The quality and cost of a product is largely predicated on the efficacy and ease of its assembly. Wade has an eye for efficiency and can breakdown the process to avoid wasted time. He can either help streamline an existing line, or help in laying out a new facility from scratch. To avoid fatigue and repetition injuries, ergonomics for workers are very important.
Project Management
What needs to be done next? Who else needs to be involved? Wade doesn’t claim to know it all, but he can help you find the people to organize a team to develop your product. He can communicate with the machinist and make sure they have the files needed to make the product. He can help with initial product launch, training assembly line employees, and establish a quality inspection program.
